What Your Doctor Isn’t Saying About How To Reverse Attention Deficit Without Medication?
Naperville, IL – Learn how a corrective ADHD program is changing the way we look at attention deficit and helping some kids and adults eliminate the need for ADHD medication altogether.
Attention deficit disorder is a medical condition that makes it difficult to effectively place focus and concentration when needed. ADHD is often accompanied by various levels of being distracted, impulsive, poorly organized and with a limited ability to prioritize tasks. Some will also demonstrate hyperactivity while others will experience anxiety, depression or mood control issues.
Currently, the most common method a doctor will recommend to treat attention deficit disorder is with prescription drugs. Recent studies show that children in the United States are likely to get a psychoactive drug prescription 75% of the time they present with concerns of ADHD, based solely on symptoms. The momentum is changing as parents demand objective testing and non-drug options.
Prescription drugs for ADHD have names such as Ritalin, Adderall, Concerta, Vyvanse, and Strattera and are primarily either neuro-stimulant drugs or act by altering neurotransmitters in the brain. These drugs have a variety of well-documented harmful side effects, including loss of appetite, anxiety, nervousness, slowed growth rates, changes in heart rhythm, psychosis, and suicidal thoughts. Recently questions on bone health and a higher incidence of obesity have come up in children taking these drugs as well.
The National Institute of Mental Health did a long-term study on ADHD and found, “the long-term efficacy of stimulant medication has NOT been demonstrated for any domain of child functioning.”
That statement is powerful. In essence, the NIMH study concluded that the medications for ADHD have no long term benefits and, simply put, do not alter the course of the condition.
What if it were possible to help the brain function without these drugs? What if a new process were not only able to change the course of the condition but provide long-term benefits without side effect?
Read on to learn how our program works to do exactly that…
Let’s face it, everyone has the ability to focus on something but those with attention deficit disorder seem to only be able to focus on things like video games or running around and playing. Conversely, they appear incapable of completing tasks which have multiple steps such as cleaning a bedroom, homework assignments, or activities that require sustained focus while sitting still.
What is going on inside the brain?
ADHD might seem like a behavioral or disciplinary problem but it is not, it is a brain communication problem. The timing of information and how that data moves around the brain allows one to generate thoughts, actions, and feelings. If that timing is “off” then it can show up as behavioral, cognitive or social integration issues.
From birth to about age 3 years old the brain is experiencing the world for the first time. 100 billion neurons in the brain are in the process of making several 100 trillion connections. Literally, the brain is hardwiring itself. Between ages 3 and 6 the brain goes through a process of pruning unnecessary pathways. Just like a pruning a grapevine to eliminate the vines that are not producing. The brain naturally begins relying on the neurologic pathways it most often uses to become efficient. We call this process neuroplasticity.
The brain has the capacity to rewire itself throughout its lifetime. Learning to play the piano, ride a bike, or discovering how to perform calculus are all examples of how the brain continually stores new information and makes better connections through the process of neuroplasticity.
Communication and Timing are very important in the brain. How information moves from one point to the next allows the brain to formulate thoughts, experiencing emotions and control bodily functions.
Scientists believe that genetics, trauma, illness, nutritional issues and others developmental problems can cause the brain to wire itself improperly leading to developmental conditions such as ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia. By intervening and teaching the brain how to make better connections it is possible to improve those symptoms associated with ADHD and other neurobehavioral conditions.
PROOF OUR PROGRAM WORKS:
Just like learning any skill it takes a little time and effort but the results are often long-lasting.
In fact, longitudinal studies performed by Dr. Joel Lubar out of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, indicate that results are maintained 10 to 20 years after neurofeedback training was completed.
The Friel research group found that “In large-scale clinical trials, the efficacy of EEG biofeedback for ADHD is comparable to that of stimulant medication.”
Researchers Beauregard and Levesque found neurofeedback training “has the capacity to functionally normalize the brain systems mediating selective attention and response inhibition in ADHD children.”
Researchers Fox, Tharp, and Fox stated, “Current research has shown that neurofeedback, or EEG biofeedback as it is sometimes called, is a viable alternative treatment for ADHD.”
Researchers Pop-Jordanova, Markovska-Simoska, and Zorcec found EEG biofeedback operant conditioning is a good choice for treatment of ADHD children.
The Butnik research group found neurofeedback outcomes similar to stimulant medications and often reduced primary ADHD symptoms.
The Duric research group found neurofeedback was as effective as methylphenidate at treating the attentional and hyperactivity symptoms of ADHD.
The Gonzalez-Castro research group found the neurofeedback trained test subjects improved greater in executive control than the medication supported subjects.
At the Clear Mind Institute of Southeast Michigan and MichiganADDsolutions, our goal is to teach the brain how to focus naturally.
4 ESSENTIAL KEYS to ending poor focus:
-Ensure brainwaves are balanced using an advanced painless computer based training program called neurointegration (neurofeedback combined with photic entrainment).
-Correct left to right brain imbalance known as hemisphericity
-Support optimal brain health nutritionally
-Eliminate food sensitivities
But, wait, why isn’t your pediatrician talking with you about this approach? Honestly, some doctors are referring but unfortunately, most don’t. They’ve been kept in the dark by the pharmaceutically driven system.
I can’t speak for your doctors motivations or thought processes when it comes to making decisions regarding your child’s health. I’m sure they are caring, intelligent and you have a trusting relationship.
But, the data is in, it’s available for everyone to see…ADHD Drugs DO NOT provide long-term benefits, DO NOT actually change the course of ADHD and come with significant side effects. The National Institute of Mental Health did a long-term study on ADHD and found, “the long-term efficacy of stimulant medication has NOT been demonstrated for any domain of child functioning.”
Why not consider an approach that has been researched, is safe, and creates long-term benefits.
There is no guess work involved. It is possible to know those who are likely to respond and objectively track their progress by receiving a qEEG (Brain Map). This technology is repeatable and proven to correlate with functional MRI findings.
By placing sensors on the scalp and measuring the activity of the brain a qEEG literally generates a map of how an individual brain is connected. Areas operating properly will be revealed versus areas producing abnormally high or low electrical activity. qEEG and neurofeedback have 40+ years of research with most of the effort applied to attention deficit disorder. Researchers believe that specific high and low electrical activity patterns are associated with certain behavioral symptoms.
Be reassured that a brain map allows highly reliable measurements of brain electrical function. That data can be used clinically to guide care and track training. This data is mathematically compared to a normative database that is both age and gender stratified to ensure the accuracy of the findings.
The largest pediatric medical association in the United States is in agreement. In November 2012, the American Academy of Pediatrics approved biofeedback and neurofeedback as a Level 1 or “best support” treatment option for children suffering from ADHD.
Here is what others have experienced in our office:
D.P. 10/14/16 “We started our journey with NeuroPlus Institute almost a year ago. Our son had been diagnosed with ADHD for nearly four years and relied upon a stimulant medication to function in school and socially. We were desperate to find alternatives to help him break free from his diagnosis and succeed as the best version of himself. Upon meeting Dr. Serpe and his staff, we instantly felt very comfortable and had the whole process of neurofeedback explained thoroughly to us. It was honestly the best decision we’ve ever made for our son. He has transformed over the past 10 months from his therapy. We’ve noticed he is functioning at a higher level in school, improved self-awareness, and have seen his relationships improve with his brother as well as how he interacts with other children. It’s been incredibly rewarding for us as parents to see his success. If anyone is on the fence about this approach, I’d highly recommend learning more about neurofeedback and visit Dr. Serpe and his staff at the NeuroPlus Institute.”
“My son is in first grade and had a difficult time reading, doing homework and behaving in class. He was reading a level “C” book before care with Dr. Serpe. In 6 weeks he is now reading at a level “I” and his teacher keeps telling me how well he behaves in class. His grades are improving and I finally have hope for his future.” Catherine A.
“My child can finally focus in school. Homework only takes 1/3 of the time it used to take. I finally have hope that my child will succeed in life. Thank you Dr. Serpe.” Jen C.
Siliva C. – We came to the NeuroPlus Institute because Sergio and I were at a loss with Sidney and her ADHD diagnosis. We were always told that she would need to take meds to control her brain and stay focused in school and other activities. She was suffering in school because of her inability to stay focused and not move all the time.
Her teachers were trying different methods in an effort to help her but nothing was working. Even when she had one-on-one help she still needed to be consistently redirected. We needed to find a better option to help her succeed in school.
After receiving care with Dr. Serpe, Sidney was able to attend summer school without the need of Adderral. She has been able to keep conversations on topic and able to perform multi-directional tasks. She is able to play with friends without getting distracted. she is able to hold much longer phone and video calls. She is more aware of her surroundings and our expectations for her that before. Her health has gotten better since we stopped the medication. She is able to eat better and gain some weight. Thank you so much for helping our daughter.
Receive a qEEG brain map and functional neurological exam at a special Facebook price below (normally $295) for a limited time.

Not everyone is a candidate. After carefully considering the evidence of the qEEG (Brain map) results, history and evaluation, Dr. Joseph M. Serpe, will let you know if your child (or you) are a good candidate and likely to respond to an individual care plan.
Dr. Joseph M. Serpe, D.C., owner of The NeuroPlus Institute, is board certified via the American Association of Integrative Medicine, with over 600 post graduate hours in the study of neurology and nutrition, a certified graduate of the American Functional Neurology Institute, and a member of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, will do a brain map and focused neurologic examination to determine the extent of the imbalances in the brain.
We accept children as young a 4-5 years old, as long as they will sit for the testing.
**We work with both children and adults
***We also work with Autism spectrum, depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, chronic migraine headaches, chronic body pain, memory problems and post-concussion syndrome.
